Ancestral Healing Sessions
Virtual & in-person sessions available
As an ancestral healing guide, Amaka’s approach grows from the intersection of her ritual and divination practice, study of indigenous European and African philosophy, and years of somatic therapy training. From and through this seat, Amaka supports clients in exploring their own ancestral bodies and the spiritual tasks that may emerge from this re-membering. This often looks like identifying generational inheritances, recovering indigenous rituals, developing somatic devotional practices, and making space for spirit as guide.
These 1:1 sessions can support individuals who are just beginning to explore relationships with elder-beings or those who already have established lineage practices.
Examples of life experiences for which ancestral healing may be beneficial:
Nuclear family ruptures and disconnection.
Early childhood and developmental trauma.
Chronic pain and disability, mysterious physical ailments or recurrent illnesses.
Deaths, grief and compound loss.
Loss of cultural traditions and beliefs.
Intuition and creativity blockages, spiritual stagnation.
Group Ceremonies
In-person sessions available
Group ceremonies offer participants the opportunity to explore the intersections of personal lineage work and larger relational dynamics. Within these ceremonies, Amaka guides participants through the co-creation of a ritual container for collective healing.
This healing often takes shape through altar-building, breathwork, somatic relational practice, and communion with the natural world. Journeying inward, participants engage in somatic explorations like: How do we open our hearts to receive from the past? Who and what comes with us when we do?
Group ceremonies can be beneficial for those seeking to:
Build capacity for deeper interpersonal connection.
Explore legacies of relational trauma held in the body.
Practice and hone energetic discernment (what is mine vs what is yours).
Educational Workshops
In-person sessions available
These interactive workshops invite participants to explore the ways in which ancestral healing work supports transformative politics and social justice. Participants are guided through lineage explorations like family tree-building and inheritance tracing, deepening their understanding of ancestral connections and responsibilities, and contextualizing individual experiences within the collective.
These workshops are best suited for learning institutions and workplaces, offering a blend of educational content and experiential somatic practice. Organizations can benefit from ancestral healing workshops when seeking to:
Deepen team connectivity through shared vulnerability.
Build resilience for conflict navigation and resolution.
Fortify social justice commitments.
“Inside the circle it is clear that every song is really the same song, but crooned in infinite variety, every story altered and unchanging: How can I live? I want to be free. Hold on.”
